The OpenSAGA generator creates the runtime model out of the XML files of the model. The runtime model is a graph of Java object instances and is, as its name already suggests, always available. Partially, code artifacts, which form the technical implementation, are generated out of the runtime model — for example Java classes are generated out of domain models and processes are translated into Spring Webflow flows and JSF templates.
OpenSAGA implements strict MDSD ( Model Driven Software Development), that is the generated code artifacts are not directly editable but need to be changed by either creating or changing OpenSAGA components or by configuring the generation process.
